Decorating With Empire Furniture

A Thoughtful Eye Blog posted some absolutely stunning pictures of Nina Griscom’s Manhattan Townhouse that originally appeared in House & Garden’s Magazine issue in October 2006.  Former Ford model and television host Nina Griscom has had a passion for collecting while traveling.  The hobby turned into a full time business when she opened a store for decor on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

My Manhattan store came about as a result of my passion for travel and my true desire to edit and share the information that comes across my plate with a wider audience. My happiest moments are spent in markets, antique fairs and villages which support craftsmanship yet unknown in our country. I am constantly on the hunt for unique, beautifully crafted items and furniture. I can only hope that I have my finger on the pulse. That quest keeps me on my toes.”

As you look into her home, you can see she has an eye for French Empire furniture and decor.  Empire furniture gives a stately, superior appearance compared to all other furniture.  Empire furniture often features incredible design, with superior woods and metals which adorn the furniture, so it is no wonder that many celebrities endorse the look.
