Empire Furniture: Klismos Chair

The Klismos Chair is a luxurious chair developed by the ancient Greeks. The chair gained popularity by 500 BC as we often see illustrated on Greek pottery, and throughout the art at that time. The Klismos chair became popular again during the French Directoire, English Regency periods and throughout the American Empire styles.
